Terry was a 3.5-4.0 student from kindergarten to 8th grade and in the Fall of 2015 he became a student & member of football team at Cass Tech High School .Terry was diagnosed with end stage Renal failure in May 2016 due to a bacteria of the blood. Terry was placed on the National Donor list and in April 2017, Terry was informed he had a donor. The transplant was to take place in September 2017, but unfortunately on the 30th of August the donor decided to wait a year or two. Now Terry is back to square one waiting for a donor.
Upon hearing Terry's story, The Triangle Society reached out to the family to find out how we could help. Zee Grandberry, Terry's mom, expressed their vehicle was failing and they needed reliable transportation to get Terry to his dialysis treatments and to get her back to work. The Triangle Society began a Gofundme campaign to raise funds for the purchase of a vehicle for the family. As a result of the campaign, The Triangle Society was able to raise $860 towards a vehicle for Terry's family. The check was presented to the family during the MHSAA playoff game held at Cass Tech on October 27, 2017. Terry continues to support his team with his presence on the sidelines at the football games and the Cass Tech family continues to keep Terry in our prayers.
Thank you to all the donors who gave to this cause and we pray that Terry will find a donor and be able to join his classmates back in the halls of Cass Tech soon. If you would like to be tested to become donor, please contact the transplant coordinator at Children's hospital, Crissty Petzoid @ 313-745-1339 or Zee Granberry at 586-331-5430. We are praying for your complete healing Terry!
