Gridiron Spotlight: Vernon Gholston

Celebrating the birth of Cass Tech alumnus athlete Vernon Gholston! Vernon Gholston is a former NFL football defensive end who played for the New York Jets. He was born on June 5, 1986 in Detroit, Michigan. As a senior at Cass Technical High School, Mr. Gholston emerged as one of the top prospects in the Midwest after registering 75 tackles, including six sacks, as a linebacker and also earning an All-State selection as an offensive guard. After graduating from the prestigious Cass Technical High School, Mr. Gholston played college football at the Ohio State University. In 2008, Mr. Gholston was drafted 6th overall by the New York Jets in the NFL Draft. He also played for the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams. Vernon Gholston is a 2004 graduate of the legendary Cass Technical High School.
